Combined Workplace Walk Organiser and Leader - Glenrothes
Paths for All have developed training for people interested in organising and leading workplace based health walks. This course is aimed at anyone in your workplace who wants to get out more, get more active, motivate others to join them and have fun at the same time!
Aim
To enable key Workplace ‘Organisers’ to gain the skills to allow them to set up, manage and lead workplace walks.
Objectives
By the end of the one day course, the delegates will understand:

what a health walk is
-
the relationship between walking, physical activity and health
-
the stages involved in managing a workplace walking project, including: setting up a scheme, route planning and risk assessment, marketing and working with volunteers

the barriers to physical activity
-
the role of the walk leader
-
how to motivate and encourage people to walk with you
-
also have the opportunity to share experiences informally with other professionals
-
have a set of actions to take their project forward
The course is delivered by one of Paths for All's experienced trainers and is interactive, informal and classroom based, but also includes a demonstration health walk to give you the confidence to get out there and get walking with your colleagues! You will receive a manual at the end of the course containing the course notes. Please wear suitable footwear and loose, comfortable clothing.
