This page describes the support we can offer in Scotland under each of these themes
Community
Paths for All provides support to encourage the development of community based health walk projects.
- Training for volunteers and professionals in managing community based walking for health schemes and in leading walks.
- Information and advice through our publications and ebulletins and Development Officers
- Grants to support the development of local walking schemes.
- Support with evaluation of walking programmes.
Health care
For health professionals wishing encourage patients/clients to be more active please see Find a health walk for information about walking programmes near you or contact our Development Officers for advice. We have also developed a Primary Care Pedometer Pack specifically designed for health professionals to use.
Workplace
Paths for All are collaborating with the Centre for Healthy Working Lives to bring a range of walking promotion opportunities for workplaces. These include the Workplace Pedometer Pack, Workplace Training and grants for small/medium size businesses. We also work closely with Sustrans in the promotion of the Walk In to Work Out Pack to encourage active commuting .
National Coordination
Paths for All cannot get Scotland walking on its own. The range of national organisations interested in the promotion of walking for health continues to grow and our annual National Networking Event provides an opportunity for organisations from across Scotland to exchange knowledge. For further information on walking for health in Scotland download Section 1 of the Scheme Initiator manual, Setting the Context Nationally. National organisations with an interest in contributing to the promotion of walking in Scotland are encouraged to contact us.
