Safety Outdoors Course (Various 2010/2011 Dates Available)

Earlier this year, Paths For All ran 5 pilot Safety Outdoors courses.  The uptake was good and we recognise the need to continue to build volunteer's confidence in route planning & assessing and managing health walk groups during a minor accident/emergency.

With this mind a 1-day course has been developed to specifically focus on these issues based on the experience of the volunteer leaders and expertise of the trainer, Iain Davidson.

This is an interactive and practical course which will refresh existing knowledge and introduce new ways of working to ensure the health walk is a safe and enjoyable experience for both walk leaders and walkers.  The course is suitable for community volunteer walk leaders who regularly lead walks in their community and have completed Paths For All Walk Leader Training.

A further 8 dates have been confirmed to ensure this course is available to as many volunteers as possible.  These dates are available to be booked for individual projects with delivery within the local area i.e. Maximum capacity for the course is 20 delegates and we require a minimum of 12 delegates to confirm a course.  We would encourage you to offer un -allocated places to a neighbouring project to maximise availability of this course.  Due to demand for these courses, we would strongly encourage you to fill the 20 places

The dates to choose from will be allocated on a first come first serve basis and are:

·      17th Nov 2010, 15th Dec  2010

·      16th Feb 2010, 1st  & 2nd Mar 2011

Paths for All will meet the cost of the trainer, with the expectation that Walking for Health projects will provide venue, catering and manage delegate lists as in existing Walk Leader Training provision.
